How to get your Repeat Medication
Please organise your requests for repeat prescriptions in good time to allow our staff to deal with them efficiently
It helps us if you allow at least 48hrs turn-round time
We will gladly post your prescription if you would kindly include a stamped addressed envelope
Our Practice policy is not to accept telephone requests to ensure that mistakes are not made and that the telephone lines are not blocked unnecessarily, apart from in very exceptional circumstances.
It is always best to make your request in writing, preferably by ticking your computer tear-off sheet, so that we know exactly what you require
A box is provided in reception for repeat prescription requests or you may post it to us if you prefer
When the main surgery is closed repeat requests can be posted in the letter box outside the main door
You may also request repeat medication online, see the online services page for more details
Prescription Charges
The current prescription charge is £7.20
If you have several medications on a regular basis, it may be worthwhile buying a season ticket for pre-payment of prescription charges, these are currently £28.25 for three months and £104.00 for twelve months.
Medical Certificates for Work
For any illness lasting seven days or less you do not require a doctor's sickness certificate, a self-certification form (SC2) should be completed.
These are available from your employer or the reception area
However if your employer insists on a certificate for this period, you may request a private certificate for which a charge will be made
If you are off sick for more than 7 consecutive days a doctors note (form Med3 or Med5) can be issued by your GP, if appropriate
