The "Friends" was set up after our first May Fayre in 2000
Its role is to ensure that the funds raised from our annual fun event and from patient donations are spent for the direct benefit of our patients
This could be on items of comfort or convenience or on diagnostic or other equipment
We have been very fortunate to receive donations from patients and their families in the past that have enabled us to purchase items of equipment that we would not otherwise have had access to
We welcome patient participation and look forward to hearing from any of you who would like to contribute in any way to our fundraising

Some of the equipment that has been purchased from our fundraising

	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2000 Equipment purchased included electronic blood pressure machine, an arm rest for blood taking, minor surgery equipment and the children's play area.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2001 Equipment purchased included emergency resuscitation bag and contents, electronic blood pressure machine, an otoscope, Minor Surgery equipment, baby measuring mat, Ear thermometer and a Carbon Monoxide monitor.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2002 Equipment purchased included electronic blood pressure machines, a digital camera for monitoring skin complaints, an otoscope and a minor op couch.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2003 Equipment purchased included electronic blood pressure machines, a doppler ultrasound probe for the assessment of blood flow in limbs, electronic thermometers and a carbon monoxide monitor to measure the exhaled products of cigarette smoking.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2004 Electronic Message Board - already proving a great success, provides a patient call system and can be programmed to pass on all sorts of messages.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2005 Equipment Purchased included a venesector chair, minor surgery equipment, baby scales, electronic blood pressure machines, thermometers, ear thermometers, toys for the children, care of the dying book, an otoscope and eye charts.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2006 Automated Arrivals System - The new arrivals system enables you to automatically check in at the practice without having to tell the receptionist, therefore reducing queues at the reception desk and allowing the receptionist to deal with other more complicated enquiries. The system is quick and simple to use and lets the receptionist and doctor know you have arrived.
	From the Proceeds of the May Fayre 2007 Equipment Purchased included an otoscope, Dermatoscope, electronic blood pressure machines and a Liquid Nitrogen Flask for wart clinics held at the Surgery
